About PBES

Pensacola Beach Elementary School is the southernmost school in Escambia County, and certainly the most unique. For twenty years we have educated students in our elevated school among the sand dunes. With only one-two teachers per grade, we are not a very large school but we certainly get the most out of what we do have; a wonderful location, a top-rate staff, caring parents, and enthusiastic children. Our enrollment ranges between 120 and 140 students. All elementary-school age children on Pensacola Beach are eligible to attend PBES.

School Philosophy

The faculty and staff of Pensacola Beach Elementary School believe that all children can learn, and that an effective program must be established to teach the whole child. Each child is seen as unique, with different needs, learning styles, and experiences. We believe that a positive self-image is essential for each child's develoment and that the child must experience success every day.

Mission Statement

The mission of Pensacola Beach Elementary School is to recognize that each child has unique needs and abilities; provide a nurturing environment in which to achieve academic success and establish a foundation for educating citizens for life; instill the core values of equality, honesty, integrity, patriotism, respect, and responsibility; develop self-confident, critical thinkers; and cultivate creativity and leadership.

Pensacola Beach Elementary School

Pensacola Beach Elementary School is located on beautiful Santa Rosa Island. The faculty and staff make every effort to ensure that each student has a successful and enriching educational experience. Everyone knows each other at the "beach school", as we are often called, and our small size enables us to provide a warm nurturing environment. We have 134 students this year in Grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. We are part of the Escambia County School District.
